The world of human resources has evolved greatly in the past few decades.  As we continue to validate our “seat at the table” we must continue to effectively develop our value proposition to our business.  Simply doing a “good job” isn’t enough.  We must clearly define our excellence, explaining how we contribute to the organization’s success.  Understanding the intricate balance of driving the people’s side of the business into metrics can be challenging.

Over the last few years, a new group of stakeholders has asserted itself.  “MeToo” is often misperceived as the source of this phenomenon, but a more accurate and helpful view is that it is an expression of the change.  Members of an organization’s “community,” as that term is used broadly, are regularly confronting organizations on their practices and the conduct of their principals.  A skilled management team must recognize what has changed and address a newly important range of issues.
