Are you prepared? North Star SHRM will be hosting a virtual seminar titled: PFMLA.

This is a virtual presentation via Zoom on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All North Star SHRM members are invited to attend. There is no cost to attend.

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Minnesota’s Paid Leave program will provide job protections and partial wage replacement to workers who need time off work to care for themselves or a family member. In this session, you will learn how the program is being designed and implemented. You will also gain a better understanding of the critical role employers play in the program’s success, including funding the program with employees; providing critical information to your workforce; coordinating employer-sponsored benefits; and helping employees transition back to work.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Understand the fundamentals of Minnesota’s new Paid Leave law and how the program is being designed and implemented.
    2. Understand the role and responsibilities of employers in ensuring a successful Paid Leave program.
    3. Understand what if any actions employers must take to submit wage detail reports in October 2024.
    4. Learn about opportunities to inform program and product design through user research, public engagement, and prototyping.
