Featured Presenters Corey Walton and Dave Skovholt

For this webinar, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry will share information on required workplace provisions for pregnant and nursing employees under both state and federal laws. The session will walk attendees through required break time and workplace accommodations that must be in place for all employers covered by the provisions.

In addition to guidance on the critical elements related to the space and breaktime that must be made available to employees for lactation purposes, the session will also include information on both state and federal laws related to pregnancy and parental leave. This will include information on the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, pregnancy accommodation requirements under state law, and other important provisions. A Q & A session will be included!

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Attendees will gain a firm understanding of the workplace provisions supporting pregnant and lactating employees under Minnesota state law.
    2. Attendees will learn the employer requirements of the nursing mothers’ provisions under the federal Fair Labor Standard Act.
    3. Attendees will receive information about leave laws and other workplace provisions enforced by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage & Hour Division.
