The target audience for this seminar is HR professionals and any business owners. The presentation will be an extremely thorough review of legal and human resource developments in 2020. We will go through developments up to and including November of 2020, and see how other employers are handling the various challenges that have presented themselves this year.
Learning objectives are:
- Tying together recent COVID/COVID-related developments to HR best practices.
- Reviewing legislative changes on both state and federal level.
- Addressing issue of wellness in the workplace.
This seminar will be presented by Alec Beck, an Attorney with Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Minneapolis, MN.
Alec Beck has over 30 years’ experience in the areas of labor relations, employment trial work and Human Resources Consulting. He is certified by the Bar Association as a Labor and Employment Specialist, by the Human Resource Certification Institute as a SPHR, and as a Human Resource Specialist (from SHRM). He currently serves as General Counsel for the Minnesota State SHRM Council and is a frequent speaker to SHRM groups both in Minnesota and elsewhere. He has enjoyed speaking at North Star SHRM over the years, particularly since it’s membership has exploded!
