Geoffrey Scheer, Managing Director of the training firm Access Communications, will provide a one-hour “Respect in the Workplace” training program in sexual harassment awareness and diversity.  Geoffrey will invite members of the audience (or use predetermined chapter members/Board Members) to perform several brief scenes with him depicting situations of discrimination and harassment.  The audience will then be invited to suggest ways the various situations can best be handled, and alternative behaviors will be demonstrated and evaluated.  Each scenario is followed by guided audience discussion to underscore the lessons learned and offer insight into alternative methods of employee training.  The program is presented with drama, humor and good taste to keep the audience engaged and focused throughout the presentation.

      Learning objectives are:

    • Underscore the importance of diversity and harassment awareness training; it’s the “right” thing to do (moral and ethical reasons) and it’s the “smart” thing to do (legal and financial considerations)
    • Explore alternative, “outside-the-box” training methods
    • Emphasize the importance of empathy in training

This seminar will be presented by Geoffrey Scheer, Managing Director of Access Communications based out of New York, although Geoffrey lives in Knoxville, TN.

Geoffrey began his training career with Access communications in 2004, playing the role of “George” in training seminars conducted across the country for such clients as AIG, HSBC, Merrill Lynch and many others.

Prior to becoming Managing Director, Geoffrey enjoyed a successful career in the performing arts as an actor, director, playwright and producer.  He was the founder and Artistic Director of the New York-based theater company Write Club NYC and Company Manager for The Water Coolers, an award winning comedy troupe that specializes in providing customized entertainment for large-scale corporate clients.

As a playwright, Geoffrey’s works have been published by Samuel French, reviewed in the New York Times and performed in theaters and colleges across the country.
