    WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY: THE NEXT IMPERATIVE FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS AND HR LEADERSHIP

    Workplace flexibility has become a key business strategy to leverage the talents and skills of today’s increasingly diverse, aging, and multi-generational workforce.

    In this session, you will learn how flexible work arrangements such as job sharing, flexible scheduling, phased retirement, and telecommuting can drive employee

    engagement, productivity, retention, and benefit your organization’s bottom line. You will also examine key HR strategies for implementing flexibility as well as

    legal issues to consider. And you will hear about new resources and opportunities as a result of SHRM’s partnership with the Families and Work Institute,

    including the “When Work Works” initiative.

    NANCY CONWAY, SPHR, NORTH CENTRAL REGION FIELD SERVICES DIRECTOR, SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

    Nancy Conway has been SHRM’s Field Services Director for the North Central Region since May, 2011. . She supports the Chapters, State Councils, and SHRM

    members in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She is also responsible for region-wide initiatives in the six

    states with SHRM’s North Central team. Nancy has worked in the HR profession for over 27 years with industry experience in retail, call centers, banking, and

    health care. She served in a variety of chapter and state council volunteer roles prior to joining SHRM. Nancy received her master’s degree in Human Relations

    from the University of Oklahoma and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

    Raising Awareness- A Celebration of differences” focuses on helping everyone recognize and embrace their own

    differences, (beyond just race), as well as recognize how stereotypes play a role in work place conflicts

    Leigh Ann Davis, Presenter

    Leigh Ann Davis is currently the Chief Executive Officer for the Girl Scouts of MN & WI Lakes and Pines. She graduated for the University of MN, Duluth

    with a degree in Psychology & Sociology. For the past 18 years she has been working in the non-profit sector in varies positions for the Girl Scouts including

    program development, recruitment, volunteer management, as well as training & development. Leigh Ann has done consulting for corporations and non-profits on

    topics including change management, diversity & pluralism, team building, time management, as well as the “FISH Philosophy”, a program which focuses on

    changing the culture of an organization and creating a healthy work environment for employees and the customers they serve. Her passion for diversity education

    has come from her years in Girl Scouting, as well as her desire to raise her children in a world of inclusion. In addition to her work with Girl Scouts, Leigh Ann is

    currently the Board President for the Great Northern Theatre Company in Cold Spring, as well as member of the St. Cloud Rotary Club and the Cold Spring

    Jaycees. She currently resides in Cold Spring and is married to her husband, Gregg and is the mother of two girls, ages 19 and 14. Her passion for continuous

    learning is incorporated in every aspect of her life.
