North Star SHRM will be hosting a virtual seminar titled: 2SLGBTQIA+ 101 on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

All North Star SHRM members are invited to attend. There is no cost to attend.

2SLGBTQIA+ 101
This training covers general terms relating to gender identity and sexual orientation. We speak about respecting pronouns and how to be an ally to diverse people.

In this training, we will also dive into thinking about our own experiences with gender and learn 
about the differences between gender identity, biological sex, gender expression, and sexual 
orientation

Learning Objectives:

1. We will gain a baseline knowledge of the differences between gender identity, biological sex, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
2. We will gain a baseline knowledge of the definitions for the 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym.
3. We will gain the knowledge of how to be in allyship and community with 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

Speaker Bio:
Hannah Edwards(she/her) is the training coordinator for Minnesota's largest LGBTQ organization - Outfront MN. She is also a former public school teacher. In her role with Outfront, Hannah enjoys continuing in her role as a facilitator of lifelong learning. She believes that when we all know better we all can do better. When she's not working, Hannah loves to spend time with her 2 daughters and her husband Dave.
