North Star SHRM will be hosting a seminar titled: Your Organization’s DNA: Taking Culture Out of the Shadows.  It will be held at Guardian Angels Senior Services Corporate Offices (508 Freeport Avenue NW, Elk River) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 8 am to 9:30 am. All North Star SHRM members are invited to attend.  In addition, all Elk River, Monticello, and I-94 West Chamber members are invited to attend.  There is no cost to attend.  This will be a 1.5 hour program and will start promptly at 8 am.

The target audience for this seminar is HR professionals and any small business owners.  Organizational culture is critical to every organization.  The field of Organizational Development demands the practice contributes to the execution of the goals of the organization.  Culture is “how work gets done” and OD is responsible for implementing the disciplines to create a more purposeful culture.  Some organizations cracked the code to distinguishing themselves and sustained success by purposefully aligning their culture to their strategy.

When the processes, systems, and metrics in the field of OD are linked to aligning a purposeful culture, the relevance we have to the organization increases significantly.  Senior leaders understand culture will determine their success or failure.  The physical structures, the business processes and systems, and the behaviors become easier to manage and change when the culture is aligned to the strategy of the organization.

      Learning objectives are:

    • The difference between a healthy culture and a purposefully aligned culture
    • Determine the culture most critical to achieve strategic goals, and how to apply it to one’s organization
    • Identify and measure the often hidden aspects of culture
    • Gain insights to proven techniques to more quickly create real culture change
    • Develop skills and techniques to achieve lasting strategy culture alignment

This seminar will be presented by Michael Stewart.
